Halloween Update 20/10/2022 • Rusty Wasteland PVE

Dear Wastelanders,

Those who played the past wipe know it has been a long two weeks this time. Unfortunately, many things didn’t work as they were supposed to after some severe attacks in the first week of the wipe. We’d like to thank all of you for the patience you had with us while we were trying to fix as much as we could 🙂

Halloween Update

Facepunch has released their Halloween update today which means the Halloween event is enabled again until the forced wipeon the 3rd of November. Like last year, the Trick & Treat event will run every once in a while. The Frankenstein pets are also activated again.

Portals

New this year are so called “Portals”. They have been released to the staging branch today, so there’s not much info available yet. They spawn randomly on the map, and if you enter it you will be teleported to a dungeon where you will find loot and a bunch of NPCs to kill. You can teleport back by walking into the portal again.

Halloween Town

Carol has spent some time building a new Halloween-themed town. To top it off, we’ve put a dark zone around it with weather parameters that fit the Halloween atmosphere. As soon as you leave the town zone, the weather and time of day will turn back to normal.

Vanilla Loot

Last week, when we were 1-week into wipe we’ve run another Discord voting about the Vanilla loot to determine if players changed their mind. With the result of 50 vs 19 votes for vanilla loot, it’s clear we’re sticking to that.
